A1 Development serves as a strategic advisor to Gevo across multiple project locations, with primary efforts focused on the multi-billion-dollar greenfield biofuels facility in Lake Preston, South Dakota. Our team has led site selection and development efforts, secured Conditional Use Permits, and coordinated complex regulatory processes across city, state, and federal jurisdictions. In addition, we’ve provided public relations support to build community engagement, offered lobbying services, and leveraged our network to connect Gevo with key government stakeholders critical to the project’s success.

As an extension of our work with SD Soybean Processors, A1 Development worked to procure the HPP site, provided permitting support, jurisdictional coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic introductions to key government and community partners. HPP is currently under construction and set to open operations in September of 2025.

A1 Development is currently acting as advisor to Hanson Rural Water and leading the effort to acquire landowner easements for a water transmission line expansion that will allow them to serve clients with higher volumes of water.

A1 Development acted as an advisor to RCWD and led the effort in acquiring landowner easements for the Randall Regional Waterline Project, a 72-mile regional high-capacity water transmission line from the Missouri River to southeastern SD. Construction began April 2025 and is currently in progress.
